THULI MADONSELA VOTED WOMAN OF THE YEAR
RSL PRESENTS WOMEN OF THE YEAR THULI MADONSELA
This is the second year in a row that the Public Protector won the hearts as the top lady.

She was followed by Rolene Strauss who conquered international hearts by becoming the first South African Miss World winner in over 40 years.
Here’s a little bit more about Thuli Madonsela:
Born 28 September, 1962
South African advocate
Current position as the Public Protector of South Africa
During the apartheid era Madonsela served in the ANC and in the United Democratic Front anti-apartheid organisation
In 1994 she declined the position of ANC MP in South Africa's first post-apartheid Parliament
Madonsela has worked for trade unions and in both the public and private sectors since the 1980s
She was a member of the team who drafted the final constitution of South Africa promulgated by then President Nelson Mandela in 1996
Prior to her appointment as Public Protector, Madonsela served as a full-time member of the South African Law Reform Commission
She was appointed Public Protector by President Jacob Zuma for a non-renewable seven-year term commencing 19 October 2009, with unanimous support from the multi-party National Assembly
Amongst her many accolades, she was also named among TIME magazine’s top 100 most influential people in 2014

Solange Knowles Weds Alan Ferguson

Solange Knowles followed in her big sister's footsteps with a hush-hush wedding this weekend (Something which I would probably also do, Suprises are always better). After a secret engagement, the singer married longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson in New Orleans on Sunday.

Solange (28) said "I do" about 2 p.m. at the Marigny Opera House, according to People. A group of about 200 friends, such as singer Janelle Monae, and family members, including her sister Beyoncé, brother-in-law Jay Z, and niece Blue Ivy, attended.

What a party! The newlyweds were surrounded by friends and family who mostly appeared to be wearing white.
Standing to attention: Judging by these official wedding photos, a lot of care and precision went into organizing Solange's big day.
She just looks so content we love it!!
The newlyweds also posed for pictures and rode away on matching white bikes because, truly, nothing is as adorable (or hipster) as "just married" bicycles.(So RSL)
